General Information
Discovered in 1957, Co-Enzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a naturally occurring compound in our bodies, resembling the antioxidant vitamin E in its action and potentially more powerful. Coenzyme Q10 is present in every cell of the body, predominantly in the mitochondria of each cell. As heart and liver cells have relatively more mitochondria, these organs therefore contain more CoQ10 than other tissues. Research has shown that CoQ10 plays a major role in supporting heart health, enhancing energy levels, supporting the immune system, healthy gums, providing antioxidant activity and may mitigate some of the side effects associated with certain prescription drugs such as statins.
