The health and safety of our staff and customers is of utmost importance. We are working around the clock to make sure you can have access to all your medicine and healthcare needs. Please bear with us during this time of unprecedented demand.
Our pharmacists are under extraordinary pressure and are doing their best to provide the range of pharmacy services you are used to, however, in these difficult times, we have had to make some changes to keep our customers and staff safe and ensure we can continue to provide critical services to our communities.
Effective immediately we will be prioritising services as follows:
Dispensing & supply of medicines
Our pharmacists are following legislation and professional standards to ensure dispensing and supply is safe and appropriate for our customers. As we are seeing an unprecedented increase in the number of prescriptions, wait times may increase. Please be patient with our pharmacists.
The Ministry of Health and PHARMAC advise that there are no major medicine shortages in New Zealand currently and do not recommend the stockpiling of medications.
Please be advised that pharmacists may not be allowed to provide you with multiple supplies of your prescription medicines without getting your doctor’s permission to do so. And this should only be in exceptional circumstances.
Pharmacist consultations
Our pharmacists will continue to provide medicine and health advice to customers but will limit non-essential services in the short-term. Immunisation services will continue as there is a public health need.
Cleaning & hygiene
Our pharmacies have put in place additional cleaning and hygiene steps to keep staff and customers safe. Appropriate hand and personal hygiene practices have been reiterated to all staff.
We respectfully ask if you are unwell with a cough, sneeze, fever or sore throat to get someone else to collect your items from our pharmacies or to use our on-line service.
Chemist Warehouse Online
Our on-line service is still available and we encourage you to use it so as to have your medicines and other pharmacy items delivered to your door.
COVID-19 related products
We are working around the clock to secure and maintain supply of hand sanitiser, toilet paper, masks and other pharmacy products that are in high demand during this time. Please bear with us as we are struggling to get these items on the shelf. When available, purchase limits apply and will continue to apply.
Lastly, we continue to keep abreast of the changing situation and adapting accordingly.. We also encourage you to refer to the World Health Organisation and Ministry of Health for the most up to date health advice.
The outbreak of COVID-19 is posing major challenges for us all. The fight against COVID-19 is a community effort, so let’s act like a team and work together to return our community to full health.
